Media Info / Interviews
As the tour goes around the U.S. (and a few cities in Canada) , more than 100 video interviews and video tips are being created:
50+ interviews with people I call “local, small business innovators” – these are people who help small biz and entrepreneurs to grow. I come in and help shine a light on these folks who often get local attention but not global. They are outstanding members of the SDBC, people I find through Biznik, and people I find through social media or they were referred my way. They are the change-agents who are helping entrepreneurs with PR, publicity, visibility, marketing, sales, public speaking, financial, coworking space, and much more.
50+ interviews with people who are small business owners and entrepreneurs. Their companies range from no employees to 300 employees, with more on the smaller side. They are passionate with big ideas and enthusiasm. Many have given up on the idea of working in corporate ever again.
The tour began as a counter intuitive idea. Most of my colleagues in sales effectiveness have “buckled-down” this year to do webinars and telephone conference calls as training budgets nearly disappeared. I chose to go to the people with the stories. It’s been a blast so far.
Media Facts, and How to Schedule an Interview
This is a frugal and focused tour designed to promote small business, innovation, and to help non-profit causes along the way. My sponsors have helped with the bare bones travel costs – I stay in hotel “deals” often told about through social media or I use AirBnB. I receive no salary from this, and have invested some of my own money to make it happen. Why? I love sharing stories of entrepreneurial innovation – with other entrepreneurs. It is rewarding for me to connect people and help them get visibility AND I love sharing ideas with the entrepreneurs themselves. I’m a successful sales effectiveness innovator who has brought old school sales strategies into the new “Sales 2.0″ world.
Often I will invite a local small business innovator – an expert – and give them an extra spotlight on what they are doing to support entrepreneurs. We present to a room of business owners and we all leave better for it. Additionally, this tour showcases local small business support organizations – the SBDCs, small town Chambers, and the entrepreneur organizations sprinkled around North America.
Innovators are not slowed down by the recession – they have found new niches and are growing revenues! They have listened to their customers and prospective clients to alter their offerings. They are collaborators and they inspire others. We love these people and their stories!
